Product function

In waterproof coatings, MOCA (3.3′-dichloro-4.4′-diaminodiphenylmethane) mainly acts as a crosslinker or curing agent. Its core role is to improve the mechanical strength of polyurethane waterproof coatings, control the curing reaction rate, and optimize the coatingperformance. The details are as follows:

Improve mechanical strength: The symmetrical benzene ring structure of MOCA gives it rigidity, and the polar attraction of the urea bond gives polyurethane a high mechanical strength. In polyurethane waterproof coatings, MOCA can improve the crystallinity of the “hard area” and make the coating have excellent wear resistance, solvent resistance and elasticity.

Control the curing reaction rate: The oxygen atom at the adjacent position of the amino group in the MOCA molecule has an electron-withdrawing effect and steric hindrance function, which appropriately reduces the reactivity of the amino group, so that the two-component coating has sufficient construction time and is convenient for construction operation.

Optimize coating performance: MOCA, as a cross-linking agent, can cause polyurethane prepolymers to undergo cross-linking reactions to form a three-dimensional network structure, thereby improving the coating’s water resistance, heat resistance, oxidation resistance, and mechanical strength.
