| Mechanism of Action | Vemakalant is a selective atrial ion channel blocker that targets the ultra-rapid delayed rectifier potassium current (IKur) and acetylcholine-dependent potassium current (IKACh). It also blocks the late sodium current (INa) and transient outward potassium current (Ito), prolonging the atrial refractory period and reducing intra-atrial conduction. |
