Physical and Chemical Properties | Sodium hyaluronate, also called sodium hyaluronate, is a physiologically active substance widely present in the human body. It is a polymer quality linear mucopolysaccharide formed by polymerizing a disaccharide unit composed of glucuronic acid and acetylhexosamine. Its molecular weight is 1 million. It forms a thick viscoelastic solution in water with physiological pH and ionic strength. Its molecular morphology is variable, so it can also be passed with a thinner injection needle. If 10mg of this product is dissolved in 1 ml of normal saline, its viscosity is 200,000 times higher than that of aqueous humor or normal saline. |
