Rifamycin sodium is a kind of broad-spectrum antibiotic, which is a full effect bactericide with strong bactericidal power. It is mainly used for infection caused by Gram-positive bacteria such as Staphylococcus aureus and Mycobacterium tuberculosis, and biliary tract and urinary tract infection caused by gram-negative bacteria.

Description

It is a fine or slightly granular, red powder. It is soluble in water, freely soluble in anhydrous ethanol.

Application

It is an antibiotic drug, which is used for the combined treatment of Mycobacterium tuberculosis infection and severe methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus, Staphylococcus epidermidis and refractory Legionella infection, especially for respiratory tract infection, urinary tract infection, skin and soft tissue infection caused by sensitive bacteria. It can also be combined with other antibiotics in the treatment of severe infections caused by sensitive bacteria, such as sepsis, peritonitis, osteomyelitis, etc.

Packing and Storage

Preserve in an airtight container, protected from light at a temperature of 2°C to 8°C. If the substance is sterile, store in a sterile, airtight, tamper-proof container.

Storage Conditions Store the powder at -20°C for up to 3 years. In solvent, store at -80°C for 1 year.
Potential Side Effects Possible adverse reactions include gastrointestinal symptoms (e.g., nausea, vomiting), changes in stool consistency, fever, and alterations in blood and urine tests.
