It is a broad-spectrum antibiotic belonging to the rifamycin family. It has strong antibacterial effect on Mycobacterium tuberculosis and also has curative effect on Gram-positive or negative bacteria and viruses.
Description
Orange red flake crystal or brick red crystal powder. Decompose at 183-188 ℃. It is easily soluble in chloroform and dimethyl sulfoxide, ethyl acetate, methanol and tetrahydrofuran, water (pH < 6), propanol and carbon tetrachloride.
Application
It is a broad-spectrum antibiotic. It has antibacterial or bactericidal effects on Mycobacterium tuberculosis, gram positive bacteria and some gram cloudy bacteria. It is mainly used for the infection of drug-resistant tuberculosis and drug-resistant staphylococcus aureus, and also has a certain curative effect on leprosy.
