Mechanism of Action	– RNA Mutagenesis: Ribavirin triphosphate can be incorporated into viral RNA, causing lethal mutagenesis or “error catastrophe” by increasing the mutation rate of the viral genome.<br>- Inhibition of IMPDH: Ribavirin inhibits inosine monophosphate dehydrogenase (IMPDH), depleting guanosine triphosphate (GTP) pools and impairing viral replication.<br>- Enhancement of Interferon Response: Ribavirin can potentiate the induction of interferon-stimulated genes (ISGs), enhancing the antiviral state in infected cells.
