Description
It is a yellow powder. It is soluble in hot ethanol (1:23), cold ethanol (1:300), soluble in methanol, ethyl acetate, glacial acetic acid, pyridine, etc., insoluble in petroleum ether, benzene, ether, chloroform, almost insoluble in water.
Application
It is a kind of expectorant commonly used in traditional Chinese medicine. Quercetin has good expectorant and antitussive effect, also has certain antiasthma effect, and has the pharmacological function of reducing blood pressure, improving capillary resistance, reducing capillary fragility, reducing blood lipid, dilating coronary artery and increasing coronary artery blood flow. Clinical quercetin is mainly used in bronchitis and sputum inflammation. It also has auxiliary therapeutic effect on patients with coronary heart disease and hypertension.
