Thermoplastic polyester powder coatings

Practical note: the terminal group drives the cross-linker — carboxyl-terminated polyesters pair with TGIC or HAA hardeners, hydroxyl-terminated with urethane (blocked isocyanate), so don’t mix chemistries on one line. For architectural exteriors, super-durable (PVDF/resin-rich) systems are the ones that hold gloss and colour through 10+ years; standard polyester fades and chalks faster. Cure to object temperature, not oven set-point, and keep film thickness in the recommended window — too thin hurts weathering and impact, too thick accentuates orange peel on large panels.
