Description
Potassium Bitartrate is a white crystals or crystalline powder. It is odorless and has a pleasant cool and sour taste. Soluble in dilute mineral acid, alkaline solution or borax solution. Insoluble in ethanol or acetic acid.
Application
(1) Potassium Bitartrate is widely used in food, medicine, chemical industry, light industry and other industries, mainly used in the manufacture of tartrate, such as potassium antimony tartrate, potassium sodium tartrate and so on.
(2) In the food industry, it is used as beer foaming agent, food sour agent, taste correction agent, etc. Its sour taste is 1.3 times that of citric acid. It is especially suitable for the sour taste of grape juice.
(3) Potassium Bitartrate also plays an important role in tanning, photography, glass, enamel, telecommunication equipment and other industries.
(4) Potassium Bitartrate is also used for the determination of bismuth, aluminum and nickel, as well as the preparation of microbial culture medium.
