Mechanism of Action Phenidone is a dual inhibitor of cyclooxygenase (COX) and lipoxygenase (LOX), inhibiting the synthesis of prostaglandins and leukotrienes. It has anti-inflammatory and antioxidant properties.
Biological Activity – Inhibits COX-1/-2 and 5-LOX in the spinal cords of rats with experimental autoimmune encephalomyelitis (EAE).<br>- Reduces blood pressure in spontaneously hypertensive rats.
