Indications	– Otitis externa, chronic suppurative otitis media, acute otitis media.<br>- Conjunctivitis, corneal ulcers.<br>- Acute bacterial exacerbations of chronic bronchitis, community-acquired pneumonia.<br>- Uncomplicated skin and skin structure infections.<br>- Urethral and cervical gonorrhea, nongonococcal urethritis and cervicitis.<br>- Acute pelvic inflammatory disease.<br>- Uncomplicated cystitis, complicated urinary tract infections, prostatitis.
Pharmacokinetics	– Absorption: Bioavailability of oral tablets is approximately 98%, with peak serum concentrations achieved within 1-2 hours.<br>- Distribution: Detected in various tissues including lung, cervix, ovary, prostatic fluid, sputum, and skin.<br>- Excretion: 65-80% of an oral dose is excreted unchanged via kidneys within 48 hours.
Dosage Forms	– Oral tablets (200 mg, 300 mg, 400 mg).<br>- Ophthalmic solution 0.3%.<br>- Otic solution 0.3%.
Adverse Effects	– Tendon problems (e.g., tendonitis, tendon rupture).<br>- Nerve problems (e.g., peripheral neuropathy).<br>- Mental effects (e.g., hallucinations, depression, suicidal thoughts).<br>- Seizures.<br>- Joint problems in children.<br>- Severe allergic reactions.<br>- Liver damage.<br>- Antibiotic-associated diarrhea.<br>- Aortic aneurysm and dissection.<br>- Blood sugar changes (hyperglycemia and hypoglycemia).<br>- Sensitivity to sunlight.
