Physical Properties	It is very soluble in water and sparingly soluble in alcohol. It is insoluble in ether.
Pharmacological Uses	Magnesium gluconate is primarily used as a mineral supplement to prevent and treat low levels of magnesium in the blood. It is also used to manage symptoms of excess stomach acid, such as heartburn.
Mechanism of Action	Magnesium is a cofactor in over 300 enzyme systems that regulate various biochemical reactions in the body, including protein synthesis, muscle and nerve function, blood glucose control, and blood pressure regulation. Magnesium gluconate helps replace deficient magnesium levels in the body.
Absorption and Excretion	Magnesium absorption is estimated to be 15% to 30% from the small intestine. It is excreted via urine (absorbed fraction) and feces (unabsorbed fraction).
Storage Conditions	It should be stored in a cool, dry place, protected from moisture.
