Mechanism of Action Lercanidipine is a third-generation, lipophilic, dihydropyridine calcium channel blocker. It selectively blocks L-type calcium channels in vascular smooth muscle, causing peripheral vasodilation and reducing blood pressure. It also has antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, and anti-apoptotic properties.
