Description

White or off white crystalline powder, odorless, slightly sweet and bitter after taste, with light gradient. Mp171.4℃. 1% aqueous solution ph5.5-6.5. The solution is stable at ph4cchemicalbook-5. It is easy to decompose in neutral or alkaline solutions, and the decomposition is accelerated by light, heat and oxygen. This product is easily soluble in water (1:10), soluble in ethanol (1:50), and insoluble in ether.

Application

It is highly sensitive to Mycobacterium tuberculosis, has certain effects on other gram-negative bacilli, and has strong antibacterial effect on Gram-positive cocci (including drug-resistant staphylococcus aureus). Chemicalbook Mycobacterium tuberculosis is easy to develop drug resistance to this product, and it often needs combined medication. Clinically, it is used to treat all types of tuberculosis, drug-resistant staphylococcus aureus infection, trachoma, leprosy and so on.

Dosage Forms	Available as tablets (100 mg and 300 mg), oral solution (50 mg/5 mL), and injection (100 mg/mL).
Dosage	– Active TB: 5 mg/kg daily up to 300 mg, or 15 mg/kg up to 900 mg in divided doses per week.<br>- Latent TB: 9 months of daily INH (5 mg/kg, max 300 mg) or 3 months of weekly INH plus rifapentine.
Storage Conditions	Store at room temperature (20°C to 25°C), protect from light and moisture.
Common Side Effects	Nausea, vomiting, loss of appetite, nerve problems (numbness, tingling, burning in hands and feet), and dark urine.
Serious Side Effects	Liver damage (jaundice, dark urine, loss of appetite), severe allergic reactions (difficulty breathing, swelling), and peripheral neuropathy.
