Gamma-Oryzanol

It is used for autonomic dysfunction, periodic neuropathy, concussion sequelae, women’s climacteric syndrome, premenstrual tension, vascular headache, and gastrointestinal vascular neurosis. It mainly acts on the autonomic nervous system and secretory center of the diencephalon, thereby improving and regulating autonomic dysfunction, endocrine balance disorders and mental disorders.

Description

It is a white or off-white powder. It is soluble in organic solvents such as methanol, ethanol, acetone, ether, chloroform and benzene, soluble in vegetable oil and its mixture with petroleum ether, slightly soluble in alkaline water, insoluble in water.

Application

It is the binding lipid of ferulic acid and phytosterol. It can be extracted from rice bran oil, germ oil and other cereal oils. It is a white to almost white crystalline powder, tasteless, with special fragrance, soluble in various oils and fats under heating, insoluble in water.

Its physiological functions include: regulating autonomic nerve, promoting animal growth; regulating and improving gastrointestinal function, preventing autogenous synthesis of cholesterol and lowering serum cholesterol, promoting skin microvascular circulation function to protect skin, and having weak sex hormone like effect. Oryzanol can also resist hyperlipidemia and inhibit the synthesis of endogenous cholesterol in vivo. It is used for autonomic nerve dysfunction, periodic neuropathy, sequelae of concussion, menopausal syndrome, premenstrual tension, vascular headache, gastrointestinal and cardiovascular neurosis, etc.
