Chemical composition

MT-FC-3 is a non-ionic water-soluble fluorocarbon surfactant commonly used in water-based coatings, inks, pigments, and dyes. The fluorocarbon chain segment of this product is neatly 8 carbons and fully fluorinated. The hydrophilic group is polyoxyethylene ether; the production process is electrolysis. Chemical stability: chemically inert structure. Temperature resistance above 200°C, good acid and oxidation resistance.

Performance and use

1. MT-FC-3 has the characteristics of high surface activity, high thermal stability and high chemical stability, stable quality, and performance exceeds that of similar imported products.

2. The outstanding advantage of MT-FC-3 is that it has extremely high surface activity, which is the highest surface activity among the currently known surfactants.

3. The amount of MT-FC-3 added is extremely small and the cost is low: only 0.1%~0.3% needs to be added to the formula to show good results, which can significantly improve the substrate wettability and pigment dispersion efficiency of the coating product, and can improve the stain resistance of the coating. It can also reduce the use of other wetting agents and defoamers, effectively reducing costs.

4. MT-FC-3 significantly improves wettability: it greatly reduces the surface tension of the coating system, improves the wettability and leveling of the coating on the substrate, and is particularly suitable for use in water-based wood paint, water-based plastic paint and other materials.

5. MT-FC-3 has good pigment dispersibility, improves the dispersion effect of pigments in the coating system, and improves the storage stability of the coating.

6. MT-FC-3 has good compatibility: when added to water-based paint, it can be effectively dissolved with most other additives and will not damage the original paint system;

7. MT-FC-3 improves stain resistance: during the film-forming process, the fluorinated surfactant gradually migrates to the surface of the paint film, and the latex particles wrap the pigments and fillers to form a tight dry film. The gaps after the water evaporates are occupied by the fluorinated surfactants that migrate to the surface and are arranged tightly and orderly. The fluorinated hydrocarbon groups on the surface greatly reduce the surface tension of the dry paint film, giving the paint film water-repellent and oil-repellent properties, and improving the paint film’s anti-adhesion and anti-fouling capabilities.

Usage and dosage

Add appropriately according to the application formula according to the specific situation. The total dosage of 0.1~0.3% of the formula can achieve a more ideal use effect; During the production process, it is recommended to add in a ratio of 7:3 before and after grinding; Appropriately reduce the dosage of other wetting and dispersing agents to prevent possible interference.

Packaging and storage

25kg, 200kg/plastic barrel. Keep the barrel lid tightly closed during storage and store in a cool and ventilated place. Shelf life is three years at room temperature. The product is not flammable. Avoid contact with skin during transportation and use. If it splashes into eyes, rinse immediately with plenty of water.
