Introduction
Flame retardant insulation powder coating is a pure epoxy, dip-applied system that builds a 300–1500 µm film. It combines flame retardancy with high dielectric strength — a smooth, hard, RoHS-compliant film that resists flame spread, short circuits and arc breakdown in electrical and appliance duty.

Features
Smooth surface, high hardness, RoHS tested. Flame retardancy reaches UL94 V-0; insulation strength at 300 µm exceeds 3 kV.
Why Choose This System
- Flame resistance: limits flame spread, aligned with UL 94, IEC and ASTM requirements.
- Electrical insulation: high dielectric strength, low conductivity; guards against short circuits, leakage and arc breakdown.
- Eco & energy saving: 100% solvent-free, VOC-free; one coat lowers labour and energy use.
- Durability & looks: strong adhesion and mechanical resistance against impact, heat, humidity and corrosion, across finishes and colours.
Key Applications
- Electrical & electronics: transformer housings, switchgear, busbars, distribution boxes.
- Home appliances: water heaters, air conditioners, induction cookers, refrigerator parts.
- Industrial machinery: motor housings, generators, control cabinets.
- Public infrastructure: rail transit, power supply systems, communication equipment.
Practical note: thick dip films (300–1500 µm) are where voids, pinholes and poor cure show up as insulation failures — control preheat, dip time and cure so the film melts and flows out before cross-linking, and holiday-test the coated part. Dielectric strength depends directly on film continuity, not just thickness; a bubble ruins a thick film as surely as a thin one. Flame-retardant grades are often more hygroscopic and can affect tracking, so keep them sealed and dry in storage, and match the exact UL94 rating to the end equipment’s certification rather than assuming “V-0” covers every housing geometry.
