Introduction

Butyl acetate is a colorless transparent liquid with pleasant fruity odor. It is more insoluble in water than other lower molecular weight congeners (e.g. methyl ester, ethyl ester, propyl ester, etc.); it is miscible with alcohol, ether, ketone and other organic solvents. Flammable. Acute toxicity is small, in high concentration will cause anesthesia. It has good solubility in ethyl cellulose, cellulose acetate butyrate, polystyrene, methacrylic resin, chlorinated rubber, and many kinds of natural gums. It can be used as cleaning agent or negative photoresist developer in the electronic industry.
