Description
DL-Tartaric Acid is a white granules or powder. Tartaric acid is highly soluble in water and soluble in polar solvents such as methanol, ethanol, glycerin, slightly soluble in ether, and partially soluble in chloroform.
Application
(1) In the food industry, tartaric acid is an excellent sour agent, its acidity is 1.2-1.3 times that of citric acid, and its flavor is unique.
(2) In the pharmaceutical industry, tartaric acid is used as a pharmaceutical intermediate and as a highly effective resolving agent.
(3) In the chemical industry, it can be used to produce tartrate and tartaric acid esters as detergents and polishes for metal surfaces.
