Uses:

1. Diacetone alcohol is an intermediate in the process of manufacturing isopropylidene acetone, methyl isobutyl ketone, methyl isobutyl methanol and hexanediol, ketone, isophorone from acetone. Diacetone alcohol can be used to make metal cleaner, wood preservative, preservative of photographic film and medicine, antifreeze, hydraulic oil solvent, extractant and fiber finishing agent. Diacetone alcohol is widely used as a solvent for electrostatic spray paint, celluloid, nitrocellulose, fats, oils, waxes and resins. Diacetone alcohol is a high boiling point organic solvent. The viscosity is low and the effect of temperature on viscosity is small. Used as solvent and paint remover for cellulose ester paint, printing ink, synthetic resin paint, etc.

2. Widely used as solvent for resin, electrostatic spray paint, celluloid, nitro fiber, fat, grease and wax. It is also used as metal cleaner, wood preservative, preservative for photographic film and medicine, antifreeze, hydraulic oil solvent, extractant and fiber finishing agent. It is also a kind of organic synthesis intermediates.

3. Cosmetic solvent, mainly used as nail polish and other cosmetic high-boiling point solvent. Usually formulated with low-boiling point solvents and medium-boiling point solvents into mixed solvents, in order to obtain the appropriate evaporation rate and viscosity.
