cycleanine (DTRA, 1,4-dienylbenzene thiourea) is an organic compound.
cycleanine is a white crystalline powder with a thiol odor and taste. It is a combustible substance that can dissolve in various organic solvents, but is almost insoluble in water. Stable at room temperature, but combustion may occur when heated or in contact with strong oxidants.
cycleanine is mainly used for synthesizing organic compounds. It can also be used as an anti-aging agent for vulcanized rubber and synthetic rubber plasticizers.
The method for preparing cycleanine is generally carried out by reacting phenoxythiophosphine (C12H8ONS) with sodium sulfide (Na2S) in the presence of sodium carbonate (Na2CO3). The reaction product can be further purified and crystallized to obtain pure product.
It should be kept away from sources of fire and open flames, and avoid contact with oxidants. Suitable protective gloves and eye protection devices should be worn during operation to avoid inhalation or skin contact. Overall, proper storage and use of cycleanine are key to ensuring safety.
