Introduction

Conductive powder coating is a functional film that dissipates static and conducts charge after cure. Built from polymers, conductive pigments, fillers and additives, it protects low-voltage and micro-electronic components, prevents static sparks and fires, and can be tuned to a surface resistivity of 10⁴–10¹² Ω. It is used for static elimination, electromagnetic shielding, electric heating and corrosion protection across electronics, construction, transport and industry.

Product Features

  • Dissipates static to protect low-voltage and micro-electronic components.
  • Prevents static sparks, charge accumulation, static fire and injury.
  • Surface resistivity adjustable from 10⁴ to 10¹² Ω to suit the application.
  • Excellent adhesion, impact, scratch, flexibility and high hardness.
  • Doped conductive versions offer cost-effective conductivity; colours range from dark to speckled, with custom options available.

Application Fields

  • Residential gas pipelines
  • Coal-mine gas pipelines
  • Ventilation duct coatings
  • Anti-static covers and housings for precision instruments and meters
Practical note: conductivity is only as reliable as the film under it. Resistivity drifts with film build and cure — too thin breaks the conductive network, over-cure oxidises the pigments — so specify the target range, not a single number, and measure it on the finished part at operating temperature. For gas and mine pipework the coating must stay conductive and bonded over years of humidity and vibration, which is why pretreatment (degrease, phosphate or chromate) and full cure matter. Dark/speckled tones are the natural look of conductive pigments; if a light colour is non-negotiable, allow for a performance and cost trade-off early.
