Description
It is white crystalline powder, odorless and bitter. Very soluble in water, slightly soluble in ethanol, easily soluble in methanol, almost insoluble in chloroform or acetone.

It is used as an antibiotic for infections caused by Gram-positive bacteria and anaerobic bacteria
