Practical note: “ceramic” here usually means a ceramic-filled or ceramic-modified organic powder, not a fully inorganic ceramic coating — its heat ceiling is well below true plasma-sprayed ceramic, so confirm the continuous service temperature against the actual part (exhaust manifolds, furnace linings) before assuming it solves extreme heat. Pretreatment matters even more on high-temperature parts, because any residual oil or mill scale shows up as failure once the part cycles hot. A 4H pencil-hardness film is hard but can be brittle on bending or welding — let parts reach final shape and weld before coating where possible, and specify the resin grade (epoxy for indoor chemical duty, polyester for outdoor weather) rather than buying “ceramic” as a single solution.
