Benzene tetracarboxylic acid dianhydride, abbreviated as homoanhydride, is a white or slightly yellow crystal in pure form. When exposed to humid air, it will quickly absorb the moisture in the air and hydrolyze into benzene tetracarboxylic acid. It is soluble in organic solvents such as dimethyl sulfoxide, dimethyl formamide, acetone and insoluble in ether, chloroform and benzene.
Applications
Phenylene tetracarboxylic acid dianhydride (PMDA) is the raw material for the production of polyimide film (PI film), polyimide resin, high temperature electrical insulating varnish, high temperature resistant paint, and also used in the production of epoxy resin curing matting agent and polyester resin crosslinking agent, powder coating additives and so on.
