Description
It is a white or almost white, crystalline powder. It is slightly soluble in water, freely soluble in dimethyl sulfoxide, very slightly soluble in ethanol (96 per cent). It dissolves in dilute solutions of mineral acids and alkali hydroxides.
Application
It is a synthetic purine nucleoside analog. It is mainly used for various infections caused by herpes simplex virus. It can be used for HSV infection in newly diagnosed or recurrent skin, mucous membranes, external genital infections and immunodeficiency.
