4-methylpiperazine-1-carbonyl chloride hydrochloride is an organic compound.
The method for preparing this compound can be obtained by reacting 4-methylpiperazine with acyl chloride. Reaction of 4-methylpiperazine with thionyl chloride yields 4-methylpiperazine-1-formyl sulfoxide hydrochloride, which is then reacted with trichloronitrogen generated from thionyl chloride to yield 4-methylpiperazine-1-formyl chloride hydrochloride.
Safety information: 4-methylpiperazine-1-carboyl chloride hydrochloride is an organic chloride that may cause irritation upon inhalation or skin contact. During operation, appropriate protective measures should be taken to avoid inhalation and contact with skin and eyes. This compound should be stored in a dry, cool place, away from sources of fire and oxidants.
