2-Fluoroanisole, also known as o-fluoroanisole or 1-fluoro-2-methoxybenzene, is a key fluorinated aromatic compound with the molecular formula C₇H₇FO and a molecular weight of 126.13 g/mol. It is widely utilized as an intermediate in pharmaceutical and agrochemical syntheses due to its reactivity and stability. Recent studies highlight its role in producing antifungal agents and as a building block for advanced materials. Synthesized via the diazotization of o-aminobenzyl methyl ether followed by fluorination, 2-fluoroanisole exhibits high purity (up to 99%) and melting point stability (−39 °C).
