Introduction	Nifuroxazide (CAS No.: 965-52-6) is an oral nitrofuran antibiotic used primarily to treat mild diarrhea in humans and animals. It is also known for its antibacterial and anticancer properties.

Mechanism of Action	Nifuroxazide inhibits the activation of cellular STAT1/3/5 transcription factors, showing antibacterial and anticancer activity. It also inhibits quorum sensing and virulence factor production in certain bacteria.
Medical Uses	– Antidiarrheal: Used to treat mild diarrhea in humans and animals.<br>- Antibacterial: Effective against enteropathogenic bacteria like Salmonella and E. coli.<br>- Anticancer: Exhibits antitumor and antimetastatic effects in certain cancer models.
