Description
Etoposide is a semisynthetic derivative of podophyllotoxin used in the treatment of certain neoplastic diseases. It is very soluble in methanol and chloroform, slightly soluble in ethanol, and sparingly soluble in water and ether.
Application
Etoposide is a cell cycle specific antitumor drug. It is mainly used for the treatment of small cell lung cancer, and is also effective for acute leukemia, malignant lymphoma, testicular tumor, bladder cancer, prostate cancer, gastric cancer, chorionic epithelial cancer, ovarian cancer, malignant mole.
