Cocarboxylase, also called ThiaminePyrophosphate (TPP), is the coenzyme form of vitamin B1 (thiamine) and is formed by phosphorylation of vitamin B1 (thiamine). Thiamine pyrophosphate is sensitive to light and heat, and its dry powder is stable, but its aqueous solution is very unstable.
Description
It is white or off-white powder. It is soluble in water, the pH of the aqueous solution is acidic; insoluble in ethanol, acetone and ether.
Application
1) It is used for vitamin B1 deficiency.
Vitamin B1 plays an important role in maintaining normal nerve conduction, normal activities of the heart and digestive system. When vitamin B1 is lacking, it is easy to suffer from beriberi or polyneuritis.
2)It plays an important role in sugar metabolism.
The energy of nerve tissue is mainly supplied by sugar metabolism. Once vitamin B1 is lacking, energy supply will be impaired, and lactic acid-pyruvate will accumulate, resulting in polyneuritis, showing paresthesia, weakness of limbs, neuromuscular soreness and atrophy, and cardiac metabolism disorders. Symptoms of cardiac insufficiency such as palpitations, chest tightness, cardiac hypertrophy, liver stasis, and peripheral edema. Mild deficiency of vitamin B1 manifests itself as loss of appetite, weight loss and weakness. Cocarboxylase is used for vitamin B1 deficiency, high fever, hyperthyroidism, people with large amounts of glucose infusion, systemic infection, diabetes and polyneuritis, etc.
