Using pinbaiene in premium turpentine as raw material, camphor is synthesized through pinene isomerization, esterification, saponification, dehydrogenation and other processes. It is a bicyclic dao terpene ketone compound, also known as camphor-2-one.

Description

Synthetic Camphor is a white powder crystal. If add a small amount of ethanol, chloroform or ether, it is easily break into fine powder. It is volatile at room temperature, and black smoke and a light flame occur when burning. It is very soluble in chloroform, soluble in ethanol, ether, fatty oil or volatile oil, and slightly soluble in water.

Application

Camphor is widely used in industrial raw materials, plastic plasticizers, celluloid, table tennis additives, medicine for central nervous system stimulants, blood stasis, antisepsis, and insect control.
