Vitamins 2025-03-11

Molecular Formula: C6H6N2O

Molecular Weight: 122.1

CAS No.: 98-92-0

Product name:Nicotinamide

It belongs to to the Vitamin B, participating in metaboliam in the body, can be used to prevent pellagra or other niacin defection disease.

Description

It is a white or almost white, crystalline powder or colourless crystals, freely soluble in water and in ethanol.

Application

It also known as vitamin B3 or vitamin PP, is a water-soluble vitamin and belongs to the B vitamins. Nicotinamide is mainly found in cereal skins, yeasts, peanuts, meat, animal organs, milk and green leafy vegetables. It can be synthesized from tryptophan in the human body, but the efficiency is extremely low. Escherichia coli in the intestine can synthesize niacin and then convert it into niacinamide.

Niacinamide and Niacin are commonly used in most occasions, and niacin also produces niacinamide in animal body. When niacin and niacinamide are lacking in the body, pellagra will occur, so they can prevent pellagra. Niacinamide and niacin play a role in the metabolism of protein and sugar, and can improve the nutrition of humans and animals. In addition, niacinamide and niacin are also widely used as food additives and feed additives.
