Introduction
C9H14O
78-59-1
Uses
Isofo isophorone is widely used as a high boiling point solvent in the paint and varnish industry, especially for PVDF resin with good solubility. It is also used as a leveling agent for acrylic, alkyd, epoxy and phenolic resins.
Isophorone is an important chemical raw material for the synthesis of IPDA (isophorone diamine), IPDI (isophorone diisocyanate) and 3.5-dimethylphenol.
Isophorone is also used in herbicide and insecticide formulations due to its excellent emulsifying properties and stability.
